Dimitar Berbatov tells Cristiano Ronaldo what he can achieve at Manchester United
Ronaldo and Berbatov played together for Man United in the 2008/09 season but the Portuguese forward is set to re-join the club this week after 12 years away
Dimitar Berbatov has sent former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo a message ahead of his shock return to Manchester United.
The Portugal forward is set to rejoin the Old Trafford club after 12 years away following United and Juventus reaching an agreement for his transfer on Friday.
Ronaldo has now undergone a medical over the weekend before signing a two-year contract with the club he spent six years with between 2003 and 2009 — winning three Premier League titles and a Champions League, among other trophies.
In his final season at the club Ronaldo played alongside Berbatov, who signed from Tottenham on deadline day back in 2008. Now the Bulgarian has reacted to news of his return to the club and spoken of his potential motivations behind a return after so long away.

Speaking to Betfair the former United No.9 said: “It doesn’t surprise me that he chose United in the end.
“We are all human and we are nostalgic so when he saw there was an opportunity to go back to where it started that would have been hugely tempting and that nostalgia would have driven him back, you would think, to have one more go at Old Trafford and if he can bring home the Premier League title for them as well, then that would be the icing on the cake.
“I’m so excited about the fact that he’s coming ‘home’ and I think everybody connected with the team feels the same as me and it’s great news for all the players at the club who are going to have a great time learning off him.
