BREAKING NEWS : CHIEF OF AGONA SWEDRU OGIDIGRAM NANA KOBINA BOTWE II DEAD
On yesterday, the Ninfahene and Regent of Agona Swedru, Nana Kweku Essieni V, announced the demise of the Adontehene of Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area and Chief of Agona Swedru, Ogidigram Nana Kobina Botwe II
The cause of his death is yet to be known but has come as a big shock to the whole Agonaman community and Central Region. A lot of residents do not believe the Chief is dead. The Chief was supposed to launch some initiatives to lift the youth and residents in Agonaman so his death has come as a big shock.
Ogidigram Nana Kobina Botwe II was born in the year 1945. He ascended the throne as the Chief of Agona Swedru on 24th April, 1968 and reigned until his demise on August 16th 2021 making it 76 years of life on earth and 53 years as Chief of Agona Swedru. His reign saw together the development of massive infrastructural projects to lift Agonaman.
Okokobioko had a good relationship with the youth and residents in Agonaman. His arms were opened to everyone. He was the go to person interms of need. He never cared about people’s tribe, religion or political affiliations as his arms were opened for everyone.
On his reign, he worked with all stakeholders in Agonaman to ensure developmental projects were taken in Agonaman.
The date for his funeral isn’t out yet but 40 days celebration in his remembrance has been scheduled for Saturday, 16th July at Agona Swedru Sports Stadium.
