Complete Farmer Secures €2.2M to Expand Fulfillment Centres and Empower More Smallholder Farmers
Ghanaian agritech company Complete Farmer has secured €2.2 million (USD 2.5 million) in funding from AgriFI, a facility supported by the European Union and managed by EDFI Management Company. This funding marks a significant step in the company’s mission to enhance market access and productivity for smallholder farmers across the country.
The investment will drive the development of six new fulfillment centres in Ghana’s northern regions—areas where agricultural infrastructure and access to markets remain limited. These centres will serve as hubs for aggregation, quality control, and logistics, ultimately boosting rural employment, increasing farmer incomes, and improving the efficiency of agricultural value chains. The project is expected to benefit at least 5,000 farmers.
“We are excited about this partnership with the EU-funded AgriFI, which brings us closer to building a more resilient and connected agricultural ecosystem in West Africa,” said Desmond Koney, CEO of Complete Farmer. “This funding enables us to deliver more technology-driven solutions to thousands of farmers, helping them access the markets and resources they need to thrive.”
Rodrigo Madrazo García de Lomana, CEO of EDFI Management Company, emphasized the broader impact: “Supporting Complete Farmer aligns with our mission to foster inclusive and sustainable growth. This investment will help the company reach underserved communities, strengthen agricultural value chains, and ensure lasting benefits for both farmers and buyers.”
Founded in 2017, Complete Farmer leverages digital tools to connect smallholder farmers with global buyers and input providers. The platform enables farmers to grow export-quality crops tailored to specific market demands while ensuring buyers receive traceable, high-quality produce. The company aims to reach over 50,000 Ghanaian farmers by 2028.
