Auto Bridge Ghana Enters Market to Simplify Vehicle Importation and
Agona West Municipal Assembly has launched the Youth Parliament in the municipality for the first time in its history.
The Agona West Municipal Directorate in the Central Region on Wednesday, 22nd September launched the Youth Parliament in Agona Swedru.
The Youth parliament which is under the auspices of the National Youth Authority sought to bring together fifty vibrant youth and groom them as future leaders for various positions hence nominations were opened for interested persons on Tuesday, 14th September 2021, and vetting was conducted on Friday, 17th September 2021 accordingly.

The fifty elected Youth Members of parliament were sworn in by the speaker of parliament at the inauguration as they took the oath of office.
The house in one voice and spirit then elected Derrick Fio as the speaker of parliament, Munkaila Wahab Zion as the majority leader, and David Essandoh as the minority leader in the house. Their deputies were selected amongst themselves duly.

The occasion was graced by Mr. Manuel Kweku Asiedu (Fmr. Agona West Municipal Director, NYA), Mr. Emmanuel Ofori Anim (Central Regional Director, NYA), A delegation from the office of Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison (MP, Agona West) and Mr. Barry Moore (Agona West Municipal Director, NYA).
“This is the best inaugural event I’ve attended and I commend the organizers. We seek to put the interest of the youth at first and that’s the mandate of we the NYA. We want to help promote youth interest and participation in governance and leadership hence the existence of this Youth Parliament. Our doors are always opened unto this house for any kind of assistance”. Mr. Emmanuel Ofori Anim, Central Regional director, NYA said.

Also, an amount of 1,000 cedis was promised to be given to the house by the Hon. Member of Parliament for Agona West, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison.
The speaker of parliament then reiterated the fact that they are in the house for the interest of the youth hence will tackle issues confronting the Ghanaian youth in the municipal and not tolerate any partisan politics in the house. He also charged the youth MPs to see themselves as honorable now and behave as such.
The speaker of parliament then adjourned the sitting.
